■模型制作の資料として、またヒストリックマシンの記録として、ご好評いただいているPHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION の第10弾は、"HONDA RA302"をピックアップします。
■HONDA RA302は、1960年代にホンダが開発した独創的な自然通気空冷エンジンF1マシンです。 1968年グランプリシーズンを水冷エンジン搭載のRA301で戦ったホンダでしたが、第6戦フランスGPでこのニューマシン、RA302をデビューさせました。しかしこのレースでRA302はクラッシュ炎上、悲劇のマシンとして以後決勝レースに出走することはありませんでした。
その後、2台目のRA302である"RA302-802"が第9戦イタリアGPのプラクティス走行のみを行い、後日リアウイングを取り付けられた姿でホンダコレクションホールに保存されることとなったのです。このRA302-802は、フランスGP出走の初号機とは細部が異なっていますが、基本同一構成のマシンといえます。このRA302-802を取材、各部のクローズアップからコクピット、エンジン等の内部ディテール写真を多数掲載しました。

- The PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION series is created with focus on collecting photographs for use as reference for model building and serving as a historical record of various famed machines. The 10th book in the series will be covering the HONDA RA302.
- The Honda RA302 was a Honda Formula 1 developed in the 1960s which featured a unique air-cooled engine.While the Honda team was already using the RA301 for the 1968 F1 season, they debuted the RA302 during the Rd 6 France GP. However the car crashed and burned down during the same race, ending its career with a tragic accident.
A second RA302, “RA302-802”, was constructed and only ran during the practice round of the Rd 9 Italian GP in 1968. Afterwards it was sent to the Honda Collection Hall, where it is put on display nowadays with its rear wing attached.
This photobook contains various photos of the RA302-802 displayed at the Honda Collection Hall, including detailed photos of the cockpit and engine.While this machine differs from the version that ran at the France GP in 1968, it was designed to be very close to the first build.
