■ガスタービンエンジンを搭載した四輪駆動車として、ロータスのコーリン・チャップマンによってレースに投入されたマシンが"LOTUS 56 Indy"です。
LOTUS 56は1968年のIndianapolis 500マイルレースに参戦し、Joe Leonardが予選でポールポジションを獲得、本戦でもトップを維持していましたが、残り数周でマシントラブルによりリタイヤとなりました。
この革新的マシンはその後、1971年に"LOTUS 56B"としてF1グランプリを戦うことになるのでした。
■ホワイトメタル、ウレタン樹脂、アルミ挽き物、エッチングパーツ、ゴムタイヤ、シルクスクリーン印刷デカール等を使用したマルチ・マテリアル・キット。
■一部メタルパーツはメッキ加工済。
■識別の目的で、左フロントのみ黄色に塗られていたJ.Leonard車のタイヤを再現するために、ゴムタイヤとレジンパーツを組み合わせて色の違いを再現できる構成になっています。
■ボディカウルは脱着が可能で、完成後もその特徴的なエンジン等の内部構造を見ることができます。
- based on the Lotus 56: a gas turbine-powered four wheel drive car that Colin Chapman entered for the Lotus team. It was first used in Indianapolis 500 mile race in 1968, where driver Joe Leonard was able to take pole position and keep a high position during most of the race, only to retire when the car hit trouble with only a few laps left. The car was later used in Formula 1 in 1971 under the designation “Lotus 56B”.
- a full detailed, multi-material kit featuring white metal, resin, etching, turned parts, rubber tires and silk screen decals allowing for maximum representation of the original vehicle.
- a selection of metal parts are finished through plating.
- left tire that was painted yellow on J.Leonard's car (used to differentiate cars) replicated with a combination of a rubber tire and a resin part.
- body cowl can be removed allowing for view of the detailed interior after completion.
